About Me
Hello, I am Oscar Gil and I am currently in the process of obtaining a Doctorate in Philosophy and Educational Specialization in Educational Psychology at Regent University. I consider myself a life-long learner as I am also in the process of completing an Occupational Skills Award at Saddleback College in the field of Eating Disorders Studies. In regards to the remainder of my education, I obtained my first Master's Degree at Cal State LA, my second Master's Degree at National University, my Bachelor's Degree at UCLA, and my Associate Degrees at El Camino College.
My primary educational interests correspond to academic and career counseling, and how factors such as policy, socio-emotional support, outreach and student service programs and other factors affect a student throughout their academic transition from a secondary institution (high school) to a post-secondary institution (college, university, or trade school). As I complete my doctorate coursework, I am finalizing a topic that would allow me to further learn more about this transnational experience.
I am currently a member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the California School Counselor Association (CSCA), the Golden Key International Honor Society, Phi Delta Kappa, Pi Lambda Delta, the Gates Millennium Scholars Association and an ambassador for the Gates Scholarship Association and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Formally, I was my department's student-led organization's (Student Led-EDFN) co-chair and Vice-President.
Thank you for looking through my online academic background, and if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a email if I seem perfect for your organization. Thank you for the consideration and please have a wonderful day.
