WelcomeOscar Gil is a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Psychology at Regent University. His research examines how social relationships shape Latinx students’ postsecondary educational trajectories and explores community-based strategies to increase bachelor’s degree attainment among Latinx families.
Professionally, Oscar serves as an elementary school counselor, providing social-emotional support to students while coordinating several key programs at his site, including 504 plans, the Student Success Team (SST), CAASPP, and ELPAC. He also serves as the site’s Homeless Student and Foster Youth Liaison. In addition, Oscar works as a consultant for an educational nonprofit that supports primarily Black and Brown students at a Title I school throughout the college application process. Through these experiences, he also serves as an adjunct lecturer at California State University, Los Angeles. Outside of his academic and professional roles, Oscar serves as Sergeant Gil Rodriguez, an M-Day Paralegal Noncommissioned Officer in the California National Guard. |
